I don't think it's form, but I kind of rather it was. I feel good about where my book starts. It starts with a post-apoc slice of life. Chapters past chapter 1 (agent only has chapter 1) allow you to get a view of where the characters come from and where they are going. Beta readers have connected fine with characters.
